Ivano-Frankivsk - city of heroes

Victor Melnyk

Victor Melnyk

For a long time, Viktor Melnyk housed the post of Head of the Department of Fine Arts in the museum. It was he who inspired numerous search expeditions in "warehouses of religious property", through which the museum's collection was replenished with unique sights of sacred art. As a result of troublesome, solid work, a monographic study of the architectural monument of the XVI century and its iconostasis - "The Church of the Holy Ghost in Rohatyn" - was published in the Kyiv publishing house "Art" in 1991.

Victor Miller is a true fan of his business. It seemed that everyday life, life outside of the art was a little disturbing him, he was constantly in a continuous state of search, the state of research and scientific work in the field of culture. In the memory of his staff, Victor Melnyk remained a principled, decent man who loved art above all else.

Victor Melnyk retired to eternity on June 20, 2005.
